There is nothing we, at Fabologie, love more than a good cause, some glamorous couture, and a shaken cocktail.  Thus, when, regrettably, unforeseen circumstance kept me from cameo-ing last night’s 4th annual Couture for a Cause fashion event, our STYLE blogger Rebecca Klein stepped in to fill my shoes–and quite fabulously in her rockstud’ed Valentinos.  Set on Long Island’s famed Central Avenue, 500 femmes gathered to celebrate a fashionable showcase benefiting a duo of charities: the Shirat Devorah Foundation and the Jewish Kidney Foundation.

Mod blogger Fashion-isha (and co-chair of the eve with Esther Silber-Berg and Michal Weinstein) Sharon Langert explained, “We focused on making sure there is a great vibe and a great atmosphere… The theme of the fashion show is ‘Celebrating the Joys of Your Life,’ and expressing that [idea] through clothes that make you happy and smile. We just really wanted to make sure that everyone who came out tonight would enjoy themselves, all while being able to raise money for these amazing organizations.”

When, sadly due to the loss of her sister, supporter Joan Rivers was unable to host, comedian Modi came to the rescue adding whimsy to after party. Admirably, amidst a pink spotlit sea of sequins and sky-highs, the night was, indeed, about couture, but more about cause–and a sparkling success on both counts. Trended designs by by Zoe Ltd (children’s clothing) and Raquel Couture (bridal/formal gowns) walked runway and a slew of covet-worthy prizes were up for raffled grabs.

“So much work went into putting this entire event together, and it truly showed,” marveled Rebecca Klein, “Obviously I obsessed over all the pink peonies, dripping Chanel logo tees, and my blueberry mojito.”

Always a thrill when philanthropy and fashion collide – Bravo, ladies, on a job done divine! Is it too soon to anticipate next year’s CFAC soirée?
